What is a Hitachi cup?
Hitachi cup is an important spectral analysis element, mainly made of plastic, glass or quartz.In the spectroscopy experiment, the Hitachi cup is mainly used to load the sample to be measured, so that the light beam can measure its absorbance, transmittance and fluorescence intensity through the sample. Hitachi Automatic biochemical analyzer uses Hitachi patented UV plastic cup 
Hitachi cup is an important part of colorimetric system of biochemical analyzer, and is the place where reaction occurs. High quality Hitachi cup is the guarantee of high precision measurement. 
Because the chemical composition involved in the biochemical reaction is very complex, and the Hitachi cup needs to be repeatedly used, so it needs to be repeatedly cleaned with acidic or alkaline cleaning solution. Therefore, the light transmittance, anti-adsorption, acid and alkali corrosion resistance of the comparative color cup are very high requirements. Otherwise, in the event of surface damage, adsorbed particles or the decrease of surface finish caused by corrosion, greater residue will be caused, resulting in a serious impact on the measurement results. Especially at present, when an analyzer is set up dozens to hundreds of Hitachi cups, it is very important to ensure a small enough cup difference, so that the colorimetric reaction as much as possible under a consistent background. 
In order to provide the most accurate test results, all Hitachi Automatic Biochemical analyzers use Hitachi patented UV plastic cups. This is a special UV plastic cup developed after quartz color cup and hard glass, with no UV absorption, no protein adsorption, low cost, high light transmittance, acid and alkali resistance and other characteristics. 
Compared with the quartz cup, Hitachi UV plastic cup has a strong acid and alkali resistance. 
Polystyrene (PS) sample cup is designed for use on automated instrumentation including the Hitachi®(Boehringer) S-300 & ES-600 analyzers. 
The nesting sample cup is used when smaller sampling is necessary. It is used in conjunction with other test tubes or original blood collection tubes. To use, simply transfer the sample from the original collection tube into the nesting cup. Then, place the nesting cup inside the original collection tube. The nesting cup "rides" along with the originally labeled/barcoded tube in the analyzer. This procedure saves time by eliminating the need to re-label the smaller sample. 
Sample cups are supplied for use with well-known analyzers on the market for hematology and coagulation analysis of whole blood specimen, biochemical analysis of serum specimen.
